Job Summary: The Gener! al Surgery and Trauma Medical Assistant(MA) is responsible for assisting the medical staff and other providers in the examination and care of outpatients seen in this department. Performs designated tasks according to Scope of Practice and competencies under the supervision of the RN or provider. The MA follows hospital and Center specific standards of practice, hospital policies and procedures and supports the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Division of Patient Care Services by incorporating them into clinical practice. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience: A minimum of two(2) years work experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate required. Incumbents in the position prior to December, 2011 may substitute this educational requirement with the following statement - minimum of 2 years work experience in an outpatient setting! preferred.
Licensure: CPR required within int! roductory period.
