POSITION SUMMARY
The Cardiovascular Surgery Quality Coordinator is responsible for the management of the STS Data Registry for St. Elizabeth hospital. The main function of STS database is to analyze, and maintain a national database to improve quality and efficiency of surgical care for cardiovascular patients. The coordinator will collect data, coordinate meetings with CV surgery team to outline quality strengths and areas for improvement, and stay informed on all changes to STS standards. He/she will have a significant leadership role in CV surgery related improvement projects. The coordinator will act as a contact person for all heart care related data requests. He/she is expected to make timely and sound decisions related to data collection and usage methodology with minimal guidance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Maintain documentation for STS national! database for CV surgery patients.
• Provide key invo! lvement in heart care improvement projects (beyond data collection/analysis).
• Primary contact for any STS database questions.
• Work with medical staff and managers to define data registry requests and give monthly quality reports at department meetings.
• Assume full responsibility for the database.
• Assess new data collection needs and assist in development.
• Design data reports that are most useful to the surgery team.
