Ideally, we would bring them to you. They have crates, although, Chiccie, (She-Key) the older one, is not used to sleeping in it. They both crave attention so if you don't like dogs wanting to be close or in your lap, this is not the job for you! They normally take 2-3 walks per day. Chiccie is only allowed a 10 minute walk each time, per her vet. On hot days, she does not take an afternoon walk. We do not have a fenced in yard so they must always be on a leash outside. It would be great for them if you have a fenced play area! Chiccie is a little timid and Baron will try to push her around sometimes. She might attack him if he gets in the way of her getting attention! No biting, just going after him.
Baron has a few tricks and they love running down our hall to 'fetch' little tennis balls for treats. Their favorite nightly treat is baby carrots and they love frozen green beans! They are on a prescription dog food to help lose weight, so they don't get many manufactured treats. Baron would love more rowdy play if someone was up for it. Chiccie does tend to get a bit jealous if no one is paying attention to her, though.
I am very protective of her because she nearly died in the cold when a lady discovered her under her car. Thankfully, the kind woman took her to the Animal Shelter. One of the first vets to see her happened to be our regular one. She said Chiccie would not have lasted another hour outside. They determined by her teeth that she was about 5 months old. She was only about 5 pounds and they put her in the cat room. The caretakers said the cats were amused by her. The day we picked her up she was running all over the place. Everyone loved her. After a few months, we noticed she was limping. The vet ended up performing surgery for a luxating patella and after a long period of rest and rehab, she has been doing well, just can't keep up with Baron's energy. They are very lovable, and eager to please humans who treat them nicely. We do clean up their poops on walks so we don't gain any animosity. If you truly enjoy dogs and are a loving person willing to give Chiccie a little extra care & concern, I think we will all be very happy.
We are open to maybe twice daily visits if you are willing to spend some time with them. They get worried when we are away and very much appreciate people visits! I can't think of any more to say. Ask me questions, okay?
