Field Service Technician
At Stryker Communications, our Field Service Technicians serve as The Wolf for our customers. If you’re not familiar with Pulp Fiction that translates to you on a team of people who get things done when the pressure is on. Our medical devices play a vital role in surgery and if you’re interested in learning the latest medical technology while saving the day for hospitals around the country, then this position is for you. The person taking the Field Service Technician role will spend the majority of their time in four key areas. They are:
Traveling between hospitals based on assignment of service request! s.
Troubleshooting and resolving customer and product issues.
Building positive relationships with Stryker customers.
Documenting service results in order to maintain accurate quality records.
The environment and culture for this role is fast-paced and you’ll be constantly on the go. It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers and sales representatives. Through time as a Field Service Technician, the foundation is laid to follow multiple career paths including engineering, project management, and leadership.
Field Engineer
As a Field Engineer for Stryker Communications, you will provide technical oversight, direction, and training for all field personnel within assigned region.
Responsible for resolving all design, operability, and regulatory issues associated with installation.
Along with the region’s Sales Engineer, will review and reconcile all CAD drawings and sales ! orders to ensure that: all drawings are congruent with the Scope of Wor! k; all necessary parts are on order; and all specials have been released.
Will participate in Internal Kick-off Meetings with Project Managers, Sales Reps, Sales Engineers, and other appropriate personnel to ensure that all technical requirements are being met.
Responsible for ensuring the passage of all inspections associated with installation, and operability of installations in assigned territory.
Will be the technical resource for field personnel within assigned region and will conduct and assist with training as necessary.
Coordinates with in-house personnel, vendors, sales engineers, and project managers to ensure specific cost, time and/or regulatory standards are met.
Will install and troubleshoot equipment, resolve all operability issues to ensure that all inspections are passed and sign-off is obtained.
Will evaluate final results of project, to include final QIP review and provide feedback to appropriate individuals.
Interacts with cus! tomers with regard to post market surveillance activities.
Sales Engineer
Assists in all Pre Sales activities to include the management of customer relationships resulting in new sales of Stryker Communication products.
Develop relationships with customers such that each aspect of the customer’s business is understood and there is continuous contact at various levels throughout their organization.
Manage relationships with Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Managers, Project Engineers, CAD team members, Project Managers, Regional Integration Services Managers, and various in-house personnel as necessary.
Assist with sales & marketing as an overlay to existing Endoscopy and Communications efforts. Not limited to, but including: quote assistance, technical specifications, defining customer scope of work, RFP’s, and other pre-sales / pre-installation activities as necessary.
Assist in training: Customers and new Sales Representatives on St! ryker Communications and Endoscopy technology.
Deliver convincing p! resentations of Stryker solutions to all levels within the customer’s organization to include, but not limited to: Physicians; CXO’s; OR Directors; IT Personnel; Engineer Personnel; Biomed; and Purchasing.
Review all sales orders to ensure the PO and the scopes of work are in alignment and meet all technical specifications as defined in the scope of work.
Communicate with the CAD team to ensure that all drawings match the scope of work and meet all Stryker allowed configurations, and process special requests as necessary.
Participate in the internal kick-off meetings and provide a smooth transition from sales to installation.
Field Service Technician / Field Engineer / Sales Engineer
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree is required for Field/Sales Engineer roles; Associate’s Degree and/or technical certifications are required for the Field Service Technician roles.
Technical aptitude, knowledge and/or experience is required and ca! n encompass any of the following arenas: Audio/Visual (encoding, compression, CATV, Broadcast, IPTV, etc.); Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DOS, LAN/WAN, etc.); Operation Room (technical and NOT sales); desktop break/fix; build engineer; etc.
Ability to travel is required (50-70% for Engineer-level and 70-100% Tech-level) and must be located within 30 miles or airport
Ability to interact with customers / customer-facing responsibilities is required
Ability to travel â€" 50% -70% (Field Engineer & Sales Engineer) and 70% â€" 100% (Field Service Technicians). This travel is regional in-scope.
