Orthopedic Clinic Receptionist

Location: Marinette Wisconsin

Description: Bay Area Medical Center is in need of Orthopedic Clinic Receptionist right now, this position will be placed in Wisconsin. Detailed specification about this position opportunity please read the description below. Variable hours, shifts, days and weekends. 10/40 WAIVER

Qualifications:
High School diploma required. At least two years of recent (within 3 years) of receptionist experience in an outpatient physician clinic (preferably Orthopedics) required. Working knowledge of medical terminology and procedures required. Experience with word processing and/or computer system operations necessary. Excellent customer relation skills essential. Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients. Basic office skills such as keyboarding and filing. Must be able to type 30 wpm. Good sense of organization.

Responsibilities:
To provide secretarial and reception services to the Medical Clinic by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, activating patient files, and moving patients through a predetermined schedule of appointments. To assist in the day-to-day operation of the clinic. Welcomes Patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone; answers inquiries and refers questions to other staff members. Schedule Appointments. Schedule appointments for patients in the clinic. Schedule appointments for patients referred to another physician. Make sure appointments are documented the same day they are made in patient’s electronic medical record. Prepares daily schedule for clinic days, including templates, consents, and encounter forms. Assures patient flow by checking in patients, verifying appropriate patient information. Manage patient charts and electronic medical records: Pull charts for next day appointments. Scans all reports into electronic medical record. Files charts. Obtains radiology films/disks from other facilities. Assists patients with billing questions. Collects correct insurance information and payments. Assists in filling out all insurance forms (Disability insurance forms, Worker’s Comp., off work ad return to work, and social security disability forms). Call insurance companies for pre-certification for surgery and orthotics. Completes chart reviews and performance improvement reviews. Enters patient payments/copays electronically. Balances the cash drawer. Opens and sorts all office mail. Participates in the medical office emergency routine, whenever required. Summons ambulance or EMS and assists other staff members as needed. Pulls incoming data off fax machine and routes appropriately to nursing staff, HIM, or scans into electronic medical record. Additional duties as may be assigned/directed by physician or clinic manager.
