Patient Centered Medical Home clin! ic

has board certified, family practice physicians, p! hysician assistants and nurse practitioners that provide comprehensive, compassionate health care for area individuals and families. Through the rotating services of Rhinelander physicians, the clinic offers other health care specialties. Health care services include diagnostic services, audiology, cardiology, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, oncology, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), neurology, surgery and lab services.

As part of our highly trained staff, as a Registered Nurse you will utilize a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, providing continuing health care to individuals, families and communities.

The position requires the ability to make decisions consistent with policies and the strict observance of confidentiality. You will function as an integral member of the health team performing nursing functions within the Standards of Practice for the profession.

Main
!
functions of this position:
Triage patients and facilitate efficient patient flow by calling/assisting patient into exam room, preparing for examination by performing selected nursing duties, vital signs, obtaining pertinent history and clinical assessment as appropriate.

Follow infection control/safety standards per policy and utilize personal protective equipment as appropriate.

Respond to/refer incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.

Maintain/review patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Obtain tests and examination results.

Participate in the teaching/orientation of students and new employees.

Follow written, verbal and standing orders for all tests, treatments, medication and procedures with appropriate documentation.

Implement nursing measures for the comfort and well being of the patient, prepare patient and equipment and assist providers during treatments, examinations an! d minor surgical procedures.

Recognize and maintain patient co! nfidentiality at all times.

Prepare administer and document medication per provider.

Instruct patient/family regarding medication and/or diagnosis. Perform medication dose calculations.

Start, adjust, and maintain IV as ordered by provider.

Document all interventions, patient/family responses, and medication dispensed/prescribed.

Phone in/mail prescriptions as ordered by provider.

Establish and maintain frequent and open communication with nursing manager, nursing staff, providers and all other departments.

Seek ways to improve knowledge and skills through education and Seek out learning opportunities.

Actively participates in or supports unit-based quality improvement

Promote a cohesive environment and interact effectively and professionally with peers and other department personnel; e.g., conflict resolution, communication of concerns, positive problem resolution.

Qualifications
!
Requirements for this position:
You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

You must hold current Wisconsin Registered Nurse licensure, or be eligible to obtain.

A minimum of one year of RN experience is

required

.

A minimum of one year of RN clinc experience is

strongly preferred

.

Three or more years of RN experience is strongly preferred.

Strong telephone triage skills are a must.

This is a full time, day shift position, with 40 hours scheduled per week.

Your shifts will be scheduled during normal clinic hours.

Clinic hours are 7:00 am â€" 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday

8:00 am â€" 5:00 pm on Friday

Saturday 8:00 am â€" 12:00 noon
