Dental Assistant

Location: La Crosse Wisconsin

Description: Gundersen Health System is looking of Dental Assistant right now, this position will be placed in Wisconsin. This position requires outreach one day a week to our Winona clinic and all candidates must be licensed in Minnesota.
The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting dental specialists by providing d! iagnostic, treatment, and educational services to patients and family members. The Dental Assistant is also expected to ensure the support, safety and comfort of the patient.

Education/Learning Experience:

• Required: High School diploma or equivalency. Graduate of an approved dental assistant program or 2-3 years equivalent dental or health care experience.

Work Experience:

• Desired: Previous work within a dental office, oral surgery or operating room setting.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Required: Professional demeanor and appearance. Excellent communication skills. Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
• Desired: Ability to work independently. Computer skills.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Required: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR certification or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR certification. If positio! n requires Iowa outreach, Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) ce! rtification from Iowa is required. If position requires Minnesota outreach, Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. is required.

Physical Requirements/Demands of the Position

• Medium/light work continuously throughout an 8-9 hour workday. May involve standing, static position, and twisting and bending throughout the day. Fine motor skills and dexterity while handling and gripping instruments. Walking, carrying instruments, and escorting and transferring patients.
