We have an excellent opportunity for a Temporary FullTime Housekeeper until January 2014 at Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, Wisconsin! This is a temporary 40hr/wk evening shift position and includes rotating weekends and holidays.

A Housekeeper may be assigned to one nursing unit in the hospital. They will service rooms currently occupied by patients and clean recently discharged rooms. Along with rooms, a Housekeeper will maintain floors, walls, waiting rooms, lights and furniture on the assigned nursing unit. Due to the nature of the facility, Housekeepers are able to clean many areas in the hospital including: Offices, waiting rooms, lobbies, clean and soiled utility rooms, hallways, stairwells, Isolation rooms, IORT, Surgery Suites, Cath Lab, Sterile Pharmacy, and LDR & C-Section rooms. Housekeepers will have to collect and dispose of items which may include infectious waste and recyclable products and perform linen distribution tasks as assigned.
Essential Job Funtions include:
Demonstrate knowledge, proper use, preperation, safe handling, safe transporting of chemicals, supplies and equipment to work and proper storage of the items. Demonstrate the ability to locat! e Material Safety Data Sheets, including during computer downtime. Demonstrate proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and hand hygiene on a continuous basis.
Demonstrate knowledge of
proper cleaning techniques in all areas including: sterile areas, patient rooms to include isolation and special precaution room needs, office and public areas. Arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area. Utilize ergonomic principles applicable to daily work activities. Operate various types of cleaning equipment-buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, etc, in a safe and efficient manner. Utilize safe work practices, maintain work areas, floors and keep tools/equipment in good condition.
Qualifications
Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to frequently lift or push up to 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs.
Physical activity incl! udes continuously walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching 67-1! 00% of the workday.
