The Milwaukee VA Medical Center is recruiting for a proven leader to serve as Chief of Medical Service. The medicine service includes general internal medicine, all medical subspecialties, dermatology, neurology, radiation oncology, and physical medicine. The Medical Center offers a full spectrum of comprehensive tertiary healthcare referral center including all medicine and surgical subspecialties, co! mprehensive mental health and Spinal Cord Injury Center. Staff are actively involved in research and teaching. Medical staff hold joint appointments with the Medical College of Wisconsin and the selected individual must be qualified to serve as Vice chair of the Department of Medicine at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor level. Applicants must have experience supervising and leading a VA department of medicine or larger subspecialty section.
Board Certification in medicine and VA experience in teaching and research required. Candidates must meet all the requirements for an appointment of academic staff with the Medical Colege of Wisconsin.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a ! State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the Distr! ict of Columbia. Must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current license.
- Applicant must meet the physical standards established for this position.
- Applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(s) and 7407(d).
- Board Certified in Medicine
- VA experience in teaching and research.
- Candidates must meet all the requirements for an appointment of academic staff with the Medical Colelge of Wisconsin.
