Req #: 94342BR Explore a Career In: Internal Medicine Job Description ">Job Description Job Description " >Imagine yourself Preparing and rooming the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e.
chief complaint, allergies, medications). Performing laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines. Assisting the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc Providing basic patient education on the performance of routine tasks or skills.
Following through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Referring questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relaying information back to patient as directed. Communicating with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documenting and communicating accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
Organizing and preparing exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. General Qualifications ">General Qualifications General Qualifications " > Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license granted by the State of Wisconsin. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification granted by the American Heart Association or obtained within six months of employment. Desired Qualifications ">Desired Qualifications Desired Qualifications " > One year of nursing experience with previous clinic experience.
