Position description
Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin, offers the opportunity to join four other Orthopedic Surgeons in a busy practice. Good work/life balance exists with shared call (1:5) with the other orthopedic partners. Candidates should be trained in the latest techniques in arthroscopy, joint replacement and trauma. Subspecialty interests are welcome.
Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare, is a multispecialty group/healthcare network employing more than 250 physicians and associate providers with a primary care population base of 240,000. Referrals to the Orthopedic Surgery Department come from primary care physicians within our health system, including the La Crosse-Mayo Family Medicine Residency Program with 16 residents and seven faculty. In addition to its main clinic/hospital in La Crosse, WI, where the Orthopedic Surgery position is based, we have 25-bed critical access hospital in Sparta, WI, and nine other clinics located in western WI, southern MN and northeastern IA within a 60-mile radius of La Crosse. This position would provide Orthopedic Surgery outreach services to other regional sites as part of the practice.
The Medical Center in La Crosse has 250 beds, Emergency & Urgent Care Center (Level III) staffed 24 hours by physicians, 24/7 Hospitalist Service, 16-bed combined medical-surgical ICU/CCU and cardiac cath lab. A Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS building) was completed in July 2004 and includes state-of-the art OR suites, Day Surgery Unit and a comprehensive Cancer Center with chemotherapy and radiation oncology. Full-range diagnostic radiology and laboratory services are available on site.
Candidates may have the opportunity for a dual appointment with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, if desired.
