MSC Inventory Technician (Surgery & Care Center)

Description: Dean Clinic is currently seeking to employ MSC Inventory Technician (Surgery & Care Center) right now, this position will be placed in Wisconsin. The MSC Inventory Technician, under the direction of the ASC Support Services Assistant Manager/Assistant Clinical Manager, is responsible for procurement of commodities for the appropriate Surgery/Endoscopy Center. This position will also be responsible for coordinating special equipment and supply inventory, as well as special orders. The MSC Inventory Technician will be responsible for daily ordering of supplies, verifying the correct order is delivered, restocking supplies in cabinets/she! lves immediately after invoice is rectified, rotation of suppl! ies, checking monthly outdates, as well as the updating and maintenance of the inventory databases.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with one year of additional training and/or schooling.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the medical and/or procurement field.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Preferred:

  • Familiarity with computers and medical equipment/supplies.

    1. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and move between tasks.

    4. Ability to twist/bend, stoop/crouch and to climb or balance when moving or retrieving inventory from shelves

    5. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds and to push/pull boxes, carts or pallet jacks.

    6. Ability to work first or second shift type hours.

    Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory quantities to assure availability to users. Develop familiarity will all supply inventories in order to monitor stock levels and set accurate par levels.
  • Maintain a complete log indicating who placed the request, the date and quantity ordered and verification of correct order received/returns if necessary.
  • Follow up on back ordered items and report the status of back ordered items to ASC Support Services Assistant Manager/Assistant Clinical Manag! er.
  • Post a weekly summary of back orders and expected delivery! dates in a designated location.
  • Maintain site SAP/O & M system.
  • Collaborate on product conversions and communicate with colleagues to assure product conversions are standardized across sites.
  • Make recommendations for product substitutions in an effort to save costs.
  • Assists with support contractual agreements such as Premier. Apply purchasing agreements when applicable.
  • Work cooperatively and as a liaison with SMH/O & M/Fed X/UPS and Dean Purchasing staff.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings for problem resolution when needed.
  • Assesses surgical schedule to assure needed supplies and equipment are available for use.
  • Act as a resource to staff and physicians. Assist with research impending capital equipment and purchases to educate staff and physicians about costs and alternatives.
