We have a great opportunity for a Surgical Technologist.
Shifts will be primarily evening shifts, Monday through Friday, variable days of the week.
The Surgical Technician will act as a scrub technician for all
types of procedures.
Primary Duties include:

Assisting with preparation of patients
·
Arranging and passing instruments, sponges, and sutures
·
Counting sponges, needles, and other instruments after each surgery
·
Completing post-operative clean up.
·
Administering direct care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Main functions:
·
Demonstrate competency and safety in providing direct patient care.
·
Recognize occurrence! s of life-threatening/emergent situations and take appropriate, effective action.
·
Verbal communication within the team is accurate and timely.
·
In collaboration with the surgical team, adjust and complete daily work assignments within an appropriate time frame based on unit activity in a positive and flexible manner.
·
Promote a cohesive environment and interact effectively and professionally with peers and other department personnel (e.g. conflict resolution, communication of concerns, positive problem resolution).
·
Demonstrate expertise and enthusiasm in precepting others.
·
Participates in the development and achievement of department and hospital goals as they relate to safety, cost, quality, satisfaction, engagement, and LSSM.
·
Complies with regulatory requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practic! e standards, policies and procedures.
·
Self directe! d in attending training and maintaining current certifications, licensure, competencies and required continuing education programs for area of specialty in a timely manner.
·
Assumes responsibility for areas outside the daily scrub assignment (i.e. specialty service, suture maintenance, ordering of instruments as needed and assist in central sterile processing).
·
Maintain aseptic technique.
·
Monitor breaks in technique either by self or others and brings it to the attention of the circulating RN.

Qualifications
Requirements for this position:
·
Completion of an accredited surgical technician course is
required
.
·
Current CPR / BLS is
required
·
Two years of experience as a surgical technician is
strongly preferred
.
