Patient Relations Rep III / Surgery Coordinator

To work with the Surgery Coordination Team to provide support to our physicians, staff and pa! tients relating to surgery scheduling and preparation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Communicate and document appropriately and accurately with internal and external contacts relating to surgery coordination. Utilize the electronic medical record to its fullest potential to accomplish assigned tasks.
2. Work in a coordinated effort with the surgeons, operating room, day surgery center and other Froedtert based departments to accomplish high quality patient care.
3. Work with insurance companies to confirm benefits, do prior authorization/determination submissions, and provide documentation as necessary.
4. Communicate effectively with patients to provide them with understanding of their scheduled services and insurance concerns.
5. Understand HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
OTHER DUTIES
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate education and/or! experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
High School Diploma
Experience:
3 years of customer service experience, 2 years related experience in healthcare environment preferred
Certifications/Licenses:
None
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of clinic/office procedures. Effective oral and written communication skills. Relevant experience in a health care environment with emphasis on public and patient contact preferred. The ability to analyze situations and respond with sound judgment. Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and attentiveness to detail. This position requires a high level of confidentiality.
