Recruiting for one (1) experienced highly qualified Board Certified/Board Eligible, physicia! ns in Internal Medicine or Family Practice at the Wisconsin Ra! pids VA Outpatient Clinic. Additional specialization in chronic disease management for diabetes, cardiovascular, geriatrics or related field desirable. The primary care clinic hours of operation at Wisconsin Rapids are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Federal holidays are excluded from normal clinic hours of operation. After hours and weekends are typically not required by this position; however, the incumbent may be asked to work after hours and weekends during physician shortages at the VA medical center in Tomah. The Associate Chief of Staff - Medicine Service will provide the work assignments for this physician and will provide professional direction. It is anticipated that the physician will work the majority of the time at the Wisconsin Rapids clinic, however, the VA reserves the right to assign work at sites such as Tomah, La Crosse, or Wausau as staffing changes occur or workload dictates. The physician will be granted clinical privileges for the ! VA based on his/her specific expertise.
Work will commence immediately upon completion of orientation. The physician will be required to work cooperatively with other physicians, advanced practice nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, administrative staff, and a variety of allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive health care services to civilian and military patients.
The medical center utilizes a computerized medical record system. The physician must be familiar with personal computers, have adequate keyboard skills to perform all data entry (progress notes and physician orders, history physicals, discharge summaries), and be able to navigate through windows based computer programs. Training on the computerized medical record system will be provided by the medical center.

U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
D egree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
