Patient Services Representative

Performs receptionist and general office duties and acts as initial contact person for patients! .
Essential Functions (These are the fundamental job duties the incumbent must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation. Essential Functions also include: Communication; Relationship/Teamwork [ Leadership/Teamwork ], Compliance, and Motivation )
Greets and checks in patients.
Assists patients in filling out patient forms.
Answers phones, takes messages, routes calls when necessary.
Develops patient charts.
Enters pertinent information into patient charts.
Schedules patient appointments.
Collects co-payments from patients.
Performs general office duties.
Respects and maintains confidentiality.
Works in a safe, compliant and ethical manner at all times.
Secondary Functions (These duties, while important to the success of the organization, assume a secondary role for the incumbent)
Maintain surgery schedules.
Additional Information !
Other duties may be assigned as necessary to meet the! needs of the organization.

A minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
Post high school coursework in Medical Terminology and/or Office Assistant is appropriate.
! Must have a working knowledge of medical terms and health insurance.
Must possess strong desktop computer skills.
Experience with MISYS is preferred.
Prior experience in a medical setting is preferred.
