F6/6 - Gynecology, Urology, Plastics, and ENT
Nurses on this 28-bed unit meet the acute care needs of gynecology and urology patients ! as well as those from plastic reconstructive surgery and ENT services. Nurses provide care for patients receiving new and innovative surgical procedures and specialize in care of patients requiring one of the three lead-lined patient rooms for radioactive implants. Nurses plan individualized patient care during hospitalization as well as home care upon discharge. Such a combination of patient populations and the opportunity to participate in the most advanced surgical procedures being performed today provides wonderful learning opportunities and challenges nurses by requiring a broad range of surgical and medical nursing skills.

Qualifications

Education:
1. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Work Experience:
1. One (1) year relevant inpatient adult acute care surgical experience within the last five (5) years required.

Licenses & Certifications:
1. Registration as a professional nurse in the State ! of Wisconsin required.
2. CPR certification required.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.
2. Experience in teaching patients and families.
3. Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively delegate and supervise the work of other nursing team members.

Physical Requirements: Medium-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Pay

This is a Represented position and falls into Pay Grade 6FR. The salary range begins at $29.43 per hour. Education, experience, tenure and internal equity may be taken into consideration when job offers are extended.

Work Schedule

80%, Day/Night, 8/12 hour shifts, A weekend rotation. Hours may vary based on operational needs of the dpeartment.
