Under minimal supervision, uses fundamental and advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to pe! rform complex scientific research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

In order of importance

1. Perf! orm and develop routine and complex experimental designs for i! mplementation in the lab.

2. Develop new methodologies for lab procedures.

3. Oversee ordering laboratory supplies and materials.

4. Participate in meetings with principle investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, evaluate lab procedures.

5. Teach and train new members of the lab in relevant techniques and analytical procedures.

6. Organize and delegate work assignments.

7. Perform library searches prepare materials for publications and grants.

OTHER DUTIES

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

Education:
Masters Degree in scientific field

Experience:
2 years experience

Certifications/Licenses:
None

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and attentiveness to detail required. Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies.

Ability to develop and follow research methodology and protocol. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures. Ability to design, organize, and coordinates scientific research projects.
