Registered Nurse - Orthopedics Clinic

Description: University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics is currently interviewing Registered Nurse - Orthopedics Clinic right now, this occupation will be placed in Wisconsin. The Orthopedic Registered Nurse performs all required elements of a nursing assessment including but not limited to physical e! xamination, assessment of readiness to learn, psychosocial assessment, functional assessment and utilization of patient/family specific assessment scales as required. This nurse possesses knowledge of care and triage of surgical and non-surgical patients. The Nurse Clinician is also able to assist in the preparation of the patient for a variety of orthopedic surgeries.
Hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, 9 days per pay period with 3+ required late stays per month.
Education:
1. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.
Work Experience:
1. One (1) year of relevant clinical experience required.
2. At least three (3) years relevant clinical experience in Orthopedic nursing preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
1. Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin required.
2. CPR certification required.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge regarding q! uality improvement and standards of care within practice area.!
2. Experience in teaching patients and families, especially pre/post-surgical teaching.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to delegate effectively and supervise the work of other nursing team members.
