Become an Environmental Services Assistant (Housekeeper) at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital and you will have the opportunity to impact patients without necessarily performing direct patient care. Our 500+ bed, 900,000 square foot hospital is staffed with Environmental Services Assistants who clean and service hospital areas to insure the safety, health and the morale of patients, visitors and employees.
This Environmental Services Assistant position will be required to float to other units. They will service rooms currently occupied by patients and clean recently discharged rooms. Along with rooms, an Environmental Services Assistant will maintain floors, walls, waiting rooms, lights and furniture on the assigned nursing unit. Due to the nature of the facility, Environmental Services Assistants are exposed to many areas in the hospital; including TB rooms, offices, waiting rooms, lobbies, clean and soiled utility rooms, hallways, stairwells, Isolation rooms, IORT, Surgery Suites, Cath Lab, Sterile Pharmacy, and LDR & C-Section rooms. Environmental Services Assistants will have to collect and dispose of items which may include infectious waste and recyclable products.
This position is M-F with everyother weekend and holiday. These are primarily 8 hour shifts with the majority of the shifts starting at 6:00am, 7:00am, 7:30am, 8:00am & 8:30am.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Prior experience in hospital or other health care environment is highly desirable.
